Home renovations in Knowle
Cubit Contracts renovates homes in Knowle and the surrounding villages, from single rooms to complete ground floor transformations. Every project is planned carefully and finished to a high standard by a third-generation family building firm.

Make your home work the way you live now
Knowle has everything from period cottages and Victorian houses near the High Street to 1930s semis and larger detached family homes. Plenty of them still have the small, separate rooms and dated kitchens they were built with, which no longer suit how families live today.
A well planned renovation can open up the ground floor, bring tired rooms up to date and make an older house far more comfortable, without the cost of moving. We handle the structural work, the trades and the finishes, so you deal with one team from start to finish.

Home renovation questions
What renovation work do you take on?
Anything from a new kitchen layout or a single room to a full refurbishment. Many projects involve taking out internal walls, updating heating and electrics and creating an open plan kitchen, dining and family space.
How long does a renovation take?
It depends on how much is involved. A single room is a much shorter job than a full ground floor renovation with walls removed and services moved. We give you a clear programme before work begins and keep you updated as it progresses.
Can you renovate period and older homes?
Yes. Older houses often need a more careful approach, with attention to existing walls, floors and original features. Some homes in the area sit within a conservation area, so we check early whether any extra consent is needed.
Do I need planning permission for a renovation?
Most internal work does not need planning permission, but structural changes such as removing a load-bearing wall need Building Regulations approval. Listed buildings and homes in conservation areas may need extra consent, and we will tell you what applies before work starts.
Do you work in nearby villages?
Yes. We also work in Dorridge, Hockley Heath, Lapworth and Henley-in-Arden.
