Garage conversions in Lapworth
Cubit Contracts converts garages into warm, practical rooms for homes in Lapworth and the nearby villages. Whether it is an integral garage or a separate building, we make sure the finished room feels like part of the home.

Turn spare space into a room you use
A garage that only holds bikes and boxes can become a home office, playroom, gym or guest bedroom, without building anything new or giving up garden space.
Many properties around Lapworth have detached garages or outbuildings as well as integral ones. A detached building can make an excellent office or studio, though it usually needs more work on insulation, floors and services. We look at what you have and explain what it will take.

Garage conversion questions
What can I convert my garage into?
Home offices, playrooms, gyms, guest bedrooms and larger utility or boot rooms are all popular. A boot room is especially handy if you have dogs and muddy walks on the doorstep.
Can an integral garage be converted?
Yes. Integral garages are usually the most straightforward, as they are already part of the house and can connect to the hallway or kitchen.
We check the floor level, walls and any services in the space on our first visit.
Can a detached garage be converted?
Yes, and they often make great home offices or studios. A detached garage normally needs more insulation, a new floor and power and heating brought in, so we assess the building before giving advice.
Will the conversion match my existing home?
That is the aim. The room should feel like the rest of the house inside, and where the garage door is replaced, the new window and brickwork should match the front of the property.
Can I convert my garage into a home office?
Yes. A converted garage gives you a quiet, separate workspace that is still part of the home, with proper heating, lighting and connectivity.
Do I need planning permission?
Many garage conversions do not need a full planning application, but listed buildings, conservation areas and some properties with planning conditions can be different. We check this before work starts. Building Regulations approval is always needed.
Is converting the garage better than extending?
If the garage gives you the room you need, converting it is usually quicker and less disruptive than an extension. If you need more space or want to rework the ground floor, an extension may suit you better, and we can talk through both.
